Industry Status

Fuburg and its subsidiaries are primarily engaged in the manufacturing and sales of paper-based sanitary products such as adult and baby diapers, wet wipes, and other hygiene products. These products are essential daily necessities and offer advantages such as disposable use, no need for washing, and convenience. With the increase in national income, improvement of living standards, and the formation of good hygiene habits, there is a steady trend of increasing demand for these products.

A.Series for Adult Nursing and Care

Adult diapers were first introduced to the domestic market by Fuburg in 1985, making the Company a pioneer in Taiwan. As the population continues to age, greater attention has been placed on the welfare of older adults. Senior housing, nursing homes, and other industries serving the elderly have developed rapidly, while products for older consumers have become an increasingly important market. As chronic diseases become more prevalent among older adults, the number of people experiencing incontinence has also increased. According to the Health Promotion Administration’s Longitudinal Survey of Health and Living Status of the Middle-Aged and Elderly in Taiwan, 77.3% of people aged 58 and above have at least one chronic disease, while the proportion exceeds 80% among those aged 75 and above. According to statistics from the Taiwan Paper Industry Association, total adult diaper sales are projected to reach approximately 638 million pieces in 2026, representing a year-on-year increase of 2.7%. Domestic sales are projected to increase by 2.9%, while export sales are projected to grow by 1.2%. According to statistics from the Ministry of the Interior, Taiwan’s population aged 65 and above reached 4.673 million at the end of 2025, an increase of 4.1% compared with 2024, indicating continued growth potential for the domestic adult diaper market.

B.Infant Diapers and Pet Products Market

Diapers are an essential product for every newborn. However, Taiwan’s birth rate has continued to decline in recent years. According to statistics from the Ministry of the Interior, approximately 107,000 babies were born in Taiwan in 2025, representing a 20% decrease from 2024.

Although baby diapers are a mature product category with numerous brands and intense market competition, declining birth rates have also led parents to place greater emphasis on product quality and become more willing to spend on their children. In response, manufacturers continue to differentiate their products by highlighting features such as ultra-thin designs, enhanced breathability, wetness indicators, superior absorbency, and greater freedom of movement.

In contrast to the continuing decline in the number of newborns, pet ownership in Taiwan has grown steadily. According to data from the Department of Animal Protection, Ministry of Agriculture, the number of registered pets increased from 2.8 million in 2023 to 3.4 million in 2025, representing growth of approximately 21.4%.

The pet-related industry has also experienced significant growth in recent years. According to statistics released by the Ministry of Finance, total sales in Taiwan’s pet-related industries increased from NT$40 billion in 2024 to NT$60 billion in 2025, representing growth of approximately 50%.

Industry Development Trends

Adult diapers are essential daily care products for bedridden patients and individuals with urinary incontinence. As Taiwan continues to age, the proportion of older adults in the population has risen steadily. The number of people aged 65 and above increased from 2.15 million in 2004 to 4.673 million in 2025, driving continued growth in demand for adult diapers.

In the baby diaper market, declining birth rates have led to lower sales volumes. At the same time, the rapid expansion of Taiwan’s pet market has created new opportunities, making pet hygiene and cleaning products an increasingly important area of development for related manufacturers.

The wet wipes market also shows strong growth potential as hygiene habits and consumer awareness continue to evolve alongside greater purchasing power. To strengthen product competitiveness, manufacturers are focusing on improving quality and developing differentiated functional products that address a wider range of consumer needs. Product innovation and functional differentiation have therefore become key factors in gaining market share.

Meanwhile, growing environmental awareness among both the government and the public has placed greater attention on the disposal of single-use hygiene products. Reducing waste treatment costs and minimizing environmental impacthave become important priorities for the industry, requiring continued investment in research, product development, and material improvement.
